If you had a choice between going to Mass or receiving an apparition of the Virgin Mary, which would you choose?

Like me, Apparition every time! However in one of Mary’s apparitions in Medjugorje she declared that it was more important to attend Holy Mass than to have an apparition of her. Reason she said that during Holy Mass you receive my Son!

Reported Physical Healings

• Danijel Šetka: During the early days of the apparitions in June 1981, a 3-year-old boy who was paralyzed and mute from birth was brought up the mountain. After the visionaries prayed and the Virgin Mary looked upon him, his parents reported that he began walking and speaking that same night. 
• Diana Basile and Rita Klaus: Documented medical cases involving individuals suffering from advanced multiple sclerosis who reported sudden, complete, and permanent healings after turning to prayer and the messages of Medjugorje, which medical professionals examined and found inexplicable by conventional therapy. 

Reported Physical and Visual Signs

• The Spinning Sun: Many pilgrims and locals claim to have witnessed the sun spinning, changing colors, or pulsating in the sky, often appearing as though it can be looked at directly without eye damage. Religion Online +1
• The Word “MIR”: Early in the apparitions, villagers reported seeing the word “MIR” (which means “peace” in Croatian) miraculously written in the sky. 
• Mirjana’s Watch: Visionary Mirjana Dragićević-Soldo reported that during an apparition on June 25, 1981, the time on her wristwatch mysteriously began moving backward. 
• Metallic Changes and Scents: Pilgrims frequently report that silver rosary beads turn a gold color, or that a strong, unexplained scent of roses fills the air around Apparition Hill
• The Weeping Statue: Beginning in 2002, a bronze-and-copper sculpture of the Risen Christ near the local church was reported to continuously ooze a warm, water-like liquid from its right knee. 

40 Years of Medjugorje Messages

On the evening of 24th June 1981 at 5.40pm Our Lady appeared to six young people at Mt Podbrdo in Medjugorje Yugoslavia now Bosnia and Herzegovina near the border of Croatia.

Our lady appeared to be holding a lamb but when they moved closer it was a baby, the baby Jesus. Ivanka Ivankovic and Mirjana Dragicevic were the first to see her then Vicka Ivankovic, Ivan Dragicevic, Marija Pavlovic and Ivan Ivankovic saw our lady about an hour after the first sighting.

At around 6pm on the following evenings the group of six seers saw the Virgin Mary at Mt Podbrdo, during these first few days the news of the apparition had spread around the village of Medjugorje and the surrounding areas. Consequently, a large following of onlookers accompanied the six on these days.

The first supernatural sign that the onlookers witnessed was the speed at which the six were able to run up the hill once Our Lady had appeared. Witness statements recall how they sped up the hill trasversing difficult terrain with the ease as if on wings running through thorn bushes and against jagged rocks, over slippery steep tracks like the obstacles were not there.

On these early days they asked the Lady some questions:-

• Who are you? “I’m the Blessed Virgin Mary“.
• Why are you here? “I have come because there are many true believers here. I wish to be with you to convert and to reconcile the whole world…“
• Will you give a sign for those who cannot see you? ‘Blessed are those who have not seen and who believe.’

Mary ended the third day with this. message:- “Peace, Peace, Peace! Be reconciled! Only Peace. Make your peace with God and among yourselves. For that, it is necessary to believe, to pray, to fast, and to go to confession.”

I am calling you to renew in your families the prayer of the Rosary for my intentions, so that I may be able to multiply your prayers and intercede for you before the Most High, [for Him] to heed your prayers and to give you peace. “Dear children, Today I am calling you: return to God, return to prayer, so that you may become carriers of peace. Pray, little children, for peace that is in danger; and may prayer begin to flow anew from your hearts and from your families, so that, in joy, you may feel the voice of Jesus in your hearts: ‘Peace be with you.’ Be, little children, carriers of peace and prayer for all those who do not pray. I am with you and I pray for you before my Son Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”

“Dear children! While darkness and peacelessness rule in many hearts, you, little children, be prayer and my extended hands of love. Little children, place the Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your family and read it, so that it may be an encouragement for you to conversion and a new life; because Satan is strong and seduces hearts. Your hearts, through my maternal Heart, I desire to commend to the Heart of my Son Jesus, so that He, the Risen One, may reign in you and joy may begin to reign in you and around you. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”

Medjugorje Message, June 25, 2026

“Dear children Rejoice with me because the Most High permits me to be with you, to lead you to Him Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Rejoice, little children, and be joyful also in difficulties and you will have the strength, because you will be aware that you are transient and you will know to offer everything to God. That is why, do not forget: I am your Mother and I love you. Thank you for having responded to my call.
